Military Modernization

· Given our national debt problems, all spending needs to be scrutinized, including our military budget. We need the Pentagon to rapidly finish its efforts to pass a full audit, in order to give both politicians and military planners full information on the costs and effectiveness of its broad range of programs.

· We need this information quickly because we face pressing needs for the modernization of key weapons systems. Considering Russian and Chinese advances in hypersonic weapons, anti-satellite weapons, and electronic warfare, we need to fund the development of our own new systems to counter those threats. Knowing where we may be able to repurpose money away from ineffective or obsolete programs will help us to fund this modernization without resorting to financing via debt or cutting essential capabilities.
